G & C | Märkisches Museum & Soho House Berlin Wedding Maerkisches Museum Berlin Hochzeit

G & C’s wedding was a fabulous two day affair. Most of their guests had traveled from the US to celebrate and they were treated to two of Berlin’s most beautiful wedding venues: the ceremony was held at the Märkisches Museum on Friday, and the reception was at Soho House on Saturday evening. It was a celebration truly filled with love. I am not sure every wedding photographer would agree with me, but one of my most favorite parts of a wedding day are the speeches and toasts made to the couple. The speeches at this wedding were extra amazing, the maid of honor finished her toast with a tap dance she choreographed for her best friend and her new husband, and the groomsmen told the most hilarious stories from their college days with the groom. I was laughing so hard at one point I had to stop taking pictures for a minute to compose myself. Needless to say, it was a really fun wedding to photograph. G & C are not only an absolutely stunning couple, they are so sweet and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Thank you both so much for being such a joy to work with and inviting me to spend the weekend photographing your celebration.

Rustic Garden Wedding Inspiration at Gartenglück Wegendorf Gartenglueck Wegendorf Hochzeit

I am thrilled to get the chance to share the work of a super talented team of vendors and felt honored to get to work with them all.  We wanted to create a super chic wedding in the countryside, similar to the beautiful barn weddings we have back in California. We had so much fun organizing this shoot together and had a blast on our day of shooting.  Our models, Josefin and Daniel were so sweet and just a joy to photograph.  We found the perfect wedding location, Gartenglück Wegendorf, where we fell in love with the 300 year old tree in their courtyard and Hürriyet created a stunning floral garland under the tree’s canopy. Hazel was excited to debut her modeling skills alongside our adorable flower girl and ring bearer, although she was immediately fired after she tried to eat the peony collar we created for her. :(  Check out part II of this shoot here.

Kristen + Ben | London Garden Wedding London Wedding Photographer (4)

Kristen and Ben married on a gorgeous spring day in London surrounded by their families. When Kristen and I first “met” over skype and she told me she would be wearing a polka-dot Vivienne Westwood dress, I knew we were a great fit.  And seriously, how beautiful does she look in it?!? I have always been a big fan of brides wearing fabulous designer dresses rather than traditional bridal designs, and Kristen told me she was planning on wearing her dress to a wedding she was invited to a few weeks after her own wedding. (genius!) It was an honor and joy to be able to photograph their wedding day and the beautiful garden setting was a dream to take portraits in.  Thank you again, Kristen and Ben for inviting me to London and trusting me to document your day. Cannizaro House Wedding Photographer London

Lisbon on Film Lisbon Travel Photos

When Andreas and I spontaneously booked a flight to Lisbon at the end of March, we were hoping for warm(er) weather and sunshine.  Ironically, right before we left, spring arrived in full force here in Berlin and it was actually warmer in Berlin during the week we spent in Portugal. Nevertheless we were blessed with sunshine almost everyday of our trip, even though our iphones predicted 5 days of rain.  We had the best time exploring the city with our cameras in hand and found lots of inspiration in the architecture and colors.  For once, I didn’t bring my laptop along and we declared the trip a work-free trip (which rarely happens). We basically just planned our days around food and spent the rest of the time walking aimlessly and getting lost (my favorite way to explore a new city).  I only shot around a roll of film and not surprisingly, the film rolls had some of my favorite images.  I will share the digital photos next week on my personal blog, Chasing Heartbeats, so stay tuned for those. :) Lisbon Travel Photo Lisbon Travel Photo Lisbon Portugal Travel Photo Lisbon Portugal Travel Photo
