There’s something magical about the way Northern California light filters through century-old French doors, casting the most ethereal glow on a couple in love. That’s exactly what I witnessed during this editorial session at the magnificent Filoli Historic House & Gardens in Woodside, California.
As a photographer who’s captured countless weddings across California’s most prestigious venues, I can tell you that Filoli holds a special place in my heart. The estate’s romantic architecture, with its stunning Georgian revival design, provided the perfect backdrop for this elegant editorial shoot.
One of my favorite details from this shoot was the exquisite wedding stationery suite. The delicate torn edges of the handmade paper, paired with soft sage green and cream tones, echoed the garden’s natural palette. Orange and yellow pansies provided vibrant pops of color that brought the whole design to life – a perfect reflection of Filoli’s renowned gardens.
