I was thrilled when Lena asked me to photograph her anniversary session to celebrate two years of marriage and their cotton anniversary. Lena is a super talented wedding stylist with her partner Kristina, and it was an extra special honor to photograph her & her love. See more from our shoot featured on Wedding Sparrow here.
From Lena of Blue & Ivory: “Like the interwoven fibers of cotton, the second year of marriage brings a couple closer together as their lives become increasingly intertwined. And as cotton is at the same time both strong and soft, the couple is learning how to be flexible and adapt to each other‘s needs.
Felix and I have known each other for 10 years, a decade of love a joy but also growing and building a life together. Two years ago we became husband and wife and this marked a huge milestone in our relationship. In the presence of our families and friends, we promised each other to let respect, support, patience, love and honestly define our marriage and never forget that we are a team, laugh and have fun together. Honoring this second anniversary we went for a break from everyday life and celebrated our love with a few intimate hours breathtakingly captured by Ashley Ludaescher. Reflecting our time together and having a smile on our faces while thinking back on our wedding and the significant promise we made that day. But also looking ahead and expecting the future with joy and humbleness, willing to rise our marriage day by day, taking the steps of life together and let them lift us from moment to moment.”
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don’t know any other way of loving.”

I had so much fun looking back at the last year and the amazing couples we worked with and their incredible weddings we were able to photograph. Our work brought us to some beautiful places including Rome, Tuscany, Positano, Paris, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, Bavaria, San Francisco, Big Sur, Santa Barbara, Boston, Cape Cod, the South of France, Provence, and my beautiful hometown of San Luis Obispo, California. This year was definitely one for the books but not without its challenges as we made some big changes in both our business and personal lives. Andreas joined me full time which makes life a whole lot sweeter and a lot more fun to always have a travel partner. :) I cannot wait for what 2017 has in store for us, I have a feeling it is going to be a great year. Here is a selection of some of my favorite images from our weddings, engagements and travels in 2016. Thank you so much to all of our amazing clients who trusted us to document their wedding days and inviting us into their lives.

I was thrilled to be in Berlin right before the lovely Alice Williamson moved to London and we found time to collaborate. It was a fun opportunity to play with movement, light and different black and white film stocks. The grace of dancers is always so inspiring.
