Jena & Donny’s Greengate Ranch & Vineyard Wedding

Jena & Donny fell in love in middle school and after parting ways in high school, reconnected during college after a friend made it her mission to get them back together. They quickly realized their feelings for one another had never left and after three years of dating, Donny surprised Jena and asked her to marry him at Sunstone Villa in Santa Ynez. Jena’s family owns our favorite central coast wedding venue, Greengate Ranch and Vineyard, which was an easy choice for their wedding and also where Jena and Donny had lived before their engagement. They chose a unique location for their ceremony, the ranch house lawn, which has stunning views of the property’s vineyards and surrounding mountains. They exchanged personal vows in front of a hexagon altar, which has since been installed in their backyard. During our post ceremony portrait session, Donny told me that after they started dating again and were living on the property, they used to drink their morning coffee and let their dogs play right there on the ranch house lawn and said he always knew he wanted to marry Jena there. Their reception was held at Greengate’s usual ceremony location, on the lawn adjacent to the property’s pond, and wedding planner A Lovely Creative designed a stunning boho-inspired structure and space amongst the vineyards.
